The Lockheed P-38 Lightning inspired the design of the 1948 Cadillac, including the first appearance of (the rudder-type) fins.

P.S.: Cadillac played a role in building GM's Allison V12 and used it to make great war-time ads.

That is a cool bit of knowledge to know!

Cadillac's Flathead V8 also powered the M24 tank.
