New cts-v owner..need info on Brakes

I recently bought a 2005 CTS-V. My brakes won't stop squeaking..... Does anyone else have this problem? They still have half a pad left. I was told it might be because they are cheap pads. I was gonna change them....any reccomendations on a good brand. I don't drive my car 2 hard...I'm a chick, so I drive like one. haha

It does it on long drives or short trips.

Sounds like the spacers on the pads may have been left out when installed. Could be cheap pads as well. I've used CarboTech (www.CTBrakes.com) for my CTS-V since shortly after buying it. Their Bobcat pad is an excellent street pad which is quiet and doesn't dust too bad.
