Our 01 STS is runnin a little strange. has died a couple times at stop lights. Im looking for a service manual posted somwhere on line. Preferably in PDF format. Gonna try cleaning the TPS and TB. Any input? Thanks

Have the engine computer scanned.
Many times a code can set without the check engine light even coming on.

Crank sensors are a common problem for the symptoms you described.
They have gone through multiple updates since 2001.

Is there a way to retrieve the DTC's with out a scanner? ie the flashing engine light or displayed PO codes on the dash? When you say updates..do you mean computer reflash updates??? If so i should go to the dealer and have the latest version flashed

Updated crank sensors.

(1)Hold the info up and off??? Or info up and reset??? its the outter buttons of the 3.
or
(2)Some models are off and passenger side warmer.

Does your car have 3 buttons on the dash to your right?
Info up/down, reset, and off IIRC.

If not then its the second method above.

Problem is even dash code reading doesn't always bring up all stored DTC's

If no codes are listed for the PCM i would still have it scanned.

OK thanks I will go take a look. Is there a list of code definitions online?
