HUD - head up display
 

I have just become the proud owner of an 05 STS. This car is pretty much loaded with everything, but I have been unable to figure out if it has the HUD system. ...it looks as though there is a unit behind the rear view mirror which appears to have something resembling a lens which faces the windshield. Could this be a HUD unit? or is it something else? Anyone with any insight what-so-ever to share would be appreciated.

Hi Joe, I just purchased a STS with the HUD. The unit in down in the dash between the steering wheel and the front windshield. There is a small square cutout on the dash and the HUD is projected from there onto the front glass mainly in green but has a total of4vibrantcolores.

Well that answers my question then! I guess I don't have the feature. ...is that something that can easily be upgraded? I'd imagine all of the wiring is already there, I have a fuse for it in my fuse box and everything. ....do you happen to know what the unit behind my rear view mirror is?

That's the rainsense unit.
