Bummed STS driver
 

I had a 2001 STS that I bought in 2011 because my son broke my 1999 Camaro V-6, 30MPG. I bought the STS when it had 53,000 miles on the odometer. I drive from southern Oregon to northern Oregon every week and then back home. About 300 miles one way. A dip **** Dodge Ram driver rear ended me on Interstate 5 a few months ago. The insurance company (USAA) totaled the car. I took great care of the 2001 STS, washed every week, synthetic oil every week, about a quart. New quiet tires, polished and well cared for. My plane was to retire in two years still driving that car with over 300,000 miles. As it was i was into the 200,000 mile stone for a Northstar. The 2001 STS was my 3rd Seville STS. the other two crapped out with head gasket issues.

The 2002 STS ain't my well cared for 2001 by a long shot. I bought the car from a guy who has a dealers license and a car detail shop. The bumpers look like they were painted with a rattle can of flat black, the service suspension warning on the DIC. The wheel didn't have working pressure devices in the wheels. The seat heater doesn't work and the intermittent wipers don't work. Did i mention that i live in a rain forest?

The car has American Racing wheels, 5 spoke chrome. I bought a set of Cadillac wheel from a tire store the other day. Gots to polish them up and buy some real touring tires for the car. The guy i bought the car from put on tires that sound like an ambulance with the siren blaring when i'm on the freeway.

My forth STS, and probably not my last. I'm 57 years old now so i'm expected to be driving a Corvette, and i have the fat belly to do so.
