BOSE SPEAKER? OR SPEAKER AMP? 99sts
a few weeks ago istarted to hear what i thought was a bad speaker in passenger door. though it went away for a week or so it is back. in talking with louie ( my local hot shop owner, Enormus Audio ) he thought it my be the amp for that speaker, but wasnt sure and gave me a number for a bose gurue in fla. ........ unable to reach him
question1 before i rip apart, is there an ampfor that speaker, and is it in same location? question 2 how would one know if it is amp or speaker?..... i have seen blown spks before, cone wise, question 3is that speaker/ amp interchangable from another bose system that i could pick up at a yard? thanks in advance rickyd |

Rick,
the BOSE enclosure has both the AMP and the speakers. BOSE WILL overhaul for you, often under warranty .. call them. Yes, just about any Cadillac in a salvage yard with BOSE will have what you need, BUT if you are savvy with tools, the problem is often capacitors, often fixed with a $10 part. We got a member going by the name jono something .. I believe its a hobby of his to repair BOSE AMPS. |

thanks Stealth..... the speaker/amp, or as you say capacitor, seems to come and go. which in my mind would rule out speaker. amp?..... capacitor?..... ?????..... ill have to find Jono, and or do a little research at the yard.
thanks Stealth, rick |

jono.. this is a weird one... the system has been kickin lately. however, at times ill get a low rumble, (bad speaker sound) from my frt. pass. dr. speaker. with a turn off/on of radio, or a restart of car, its gone. so,..... i dont think its a bad speaker, i think its an electrical problem of some kind. would you agree? if so, whats your gut feeling? amp, capasitor......????
