2007 forgets user memory settings occasionally

I really love this car but it has one quirk that is really frustrating. I am the primary driver with my wife driving the car maybe 20% of the time. We have our user settings (seat and mirror positions, radio and climate control settings) saved to our respective key fobs and most of the time everything works as it should. Then, maybe once a month, I will get into the car after my wife has driven it and find that all the settings I had saved on the radio are gone and nothing I can do will restore them. Does anyone happen to know why this might be happening?

Thanks,
Robert

when that happens with your settings, do HER settings remain set if she then tries the car again?

is the car named Christine ?

It's random at best.

Stomper: My wife's settings have never been affected when this happens. But then she drives the car so infrequently that it could be just dumb luck.

Shortly after we got the car she reported losing the settings for her seat position but that seemed to have gone away after a couple of instances.

Yeah, I saw that movie Christine but I never thought about the the gender angle. It could be a jealousy issue since I usually drive my Corvette whenever the wife needs to use the STS. They are parked right beside each other in the garage and you know how women can be.

Could be a weak battery in the key fob maybe ?
Or she is inadvertently pressing the settings buttons while in the car ?

So figured it out yet ?
Or still strugglin ?
Is always good to know the outcome. It helps other members when they do a search on a similar issue.
