1998 STS abs- traction control lights

I currently have a 1998 STS and was traveling and the traction control light and abs light came on..... i pulled the codes and it got c1233, c1234, c1235 current.......so it apears to me that the circuits are open. I find it hard to believe that these sensors all went bad at the same time......and i also get an intermittent service steering system message...??????? any help with were to look first? i checked all the fuses and they are all good......

johnnnyyboyy, welcome to the Forum! and sorry to hear of your issues........i am not the right person to pin-point your problem, though also driving a STS know that the chain of codes most likely will steam from a single issue. if you hang tight i'm sure the right Tech will assist with your situation.... in the mean time look around the Forum, get acquainted. check Member introduction, and Cadillac demographics- how old are we...... good luck, and hope to see you 'round

3 speed sensor current codes is unusal. Check connectors at sensors for corrosion. Also check connector at EBTCM for corrosion. If you dont see anything, you need to take to shop or dealer for diagnosis.

RE: 1998 STS abs- traction control lights

Hallo,

I am probably in the same situation, I Have STS 1999. Now if I hit some roughness on the road, the ABS/TC light came on. If I stopped and then started again, the light is missing up to the next bigger roughness. Should I check the sensors inside the wheels? Should I check the EBTCM (where is located?). Thanks for advice and regards from Czech Republic.

The wheel speed sensors attach to the strut and plug in at the outer axle shaft in the front. Ck them for being unplugged or the wire harness rubbed thru at the strut. Coming on on a rough road sounds like a loose connection.
