Wierd SRX Problem - Tensioner Pulley

I have a 2005 SRX V8 AWD and last week I noticed my power steering was out. I pulled over to see the serpentine belt was broken (gone). After limping it over to my trusted mechanic, stopping often to make sure it didn't overheat, we put it up on the rack to find that the tensioner pulley was broken. Upon further inspection, we saw that the mount for the pulley on the engine block is what actually broke! Has anyone ever heard of such a thing happening? Any fixes besides putting in a new block? I am hoping my extended warranty will cover it!

Update: I am getting a new engine. Thank goodness for extended warranties!
