Throttle body code Po 638 2004 SRX V.8
 

When my car is stopped and idling the car starts to buck slightly and then stalls. I does this randomly.
Check engine light comes on. I restart car, seems to be ok. I drive on freeway for about 20 miles or so, get to my destination. Restart car check engine light is off. The problem started about a year ago. I had throttle throat cleaned. I watched the repair it didn't even appear to be very dirty. Problem seemed to go away. Problem came back and now it is happening on a weekly basis?? I read through posts it seems other people are having same problem. I don't want to go in and have dealer start replacing parts randomly.
Any thoughts. I read one post that said throttle body was replaced Twice still had problem.

You could try cleaning throttle body, it doesn't have to be "caked up" to cause this. You be better off to get diagnosis at the Cadillac dealer. You can decline to repair if you have doubts...have to talk to spouce, next payday, ...etc. Just be sure to get diagnosis and complete estimate to repair in writing. They should provide it without out hesitation, if they do : Talk to advisors boss.

Cleaned it still got error message. Replaced Throttle body. Seems to be running fine.
Will see if check engine light stays on
