Thinking about buying two 04' SRX's

[sm=burnout.gif]Hi. This is my first post. I am thinking about buying two 2004 SRX's V6 models for my son and my daughter. My first question is how much is the maintence costs i.e. oil changes, etc. Also how is your fuel ecnomey. Also if you had any problems with your SRX or anything like that. They are really excited about it.
Thanks
p.s. sorry for any spelling errors, I'm not the greatest speller.

Very nice gifts, indeed. You are a good dad andI'm certain that your son and daughter will be delighted with the SRX V6s. As far as average yearly maintence is concerned, Check the reviews on the SRX on Edmunds or Consumer Reports. Oil changes vary in cost from dealer to dealer so, you should simply call the service department and ask for the rate. Jiffy Lube and the like service centers run around $20 for oil and filter. Since you are purchasing '04s most of the known issues should have been resolved by previous owners.

My suggestion is not to buy without having your mechanic check out both vehicles. If you are buying from a dealer and there is some warranty I would still have my mechanic check them out before buying. There are too many items to check, but how many people know to check for burnt tranny fluid, frame, etc. etc. It will be worth to pay to have both vehicles checked out. Also check out carfax,

I have to agree with G.A.R.Y. An inspection by a qualified person is mandatory when purchasing a pre-owned vehicle. SGS Auto does agood and complete multipoint inspectionand they are available throughout the U.S. I have used them and it has saved me from makeing an expensive mistake. The inspections cost about $100 and well worth it.
