I broke that thing that you can hold onto at the top of car?
What do you call it? It is a 2006 Cadilac SRX? Any information on how to fix or replace this would be greatly appreciated!

a picture would help. . |
They are called assist handles.
FSM instructions for removal are: Using a flat-bladed tool, gently pry out the outer edge of the escutcheons (1) and push inward. Slide the escutcheon toward the center of the assist handle. Remove the 2 screws (1) that retain the assist handle to the roof panel. Remove the assist handle. |
Stomper, I just found a picture of what I meant in another car:

when you said "thing that you can hold onto at the top of car", I had imagined just that, on top of the car, outside .. i was way off.
that grab handle, i guess is used to get in and out of the car, right? I should add one of those to my high 4x4. some have problems climbing the height, so I have to provide a milk crate to step up. http://img.carwale.com/cg/115/470.jpg |
