2009 SRX after market add on
 

My recently purchased 2009 SRX has sensors in the front bumper. To the best of my knowledge the 2009 did not have front parking assist so this was most likely added after market. The wires from these sensors lead to a rocker switch on the lower part of the dash to the left side of the steering column. Turning the switch on lights an indicator on the switch and sounds four quick beeps. I don't know where wire(s) go to from the switch. Thought maybe someone here has an idea of how this operates or what it is. Don't want to tear into anything if I don't have to.

SOLVED! The previous owner had installed an after-market backup warning system into the front bumper. He wired it into a "always hot" power source (as apposed to using the back-up lights for power) controlled by an on/off switch. The reason it was not working was that the wires were cut at one time and then spliced together. Whoever spliced them did not remove all of the insulation so there was no contact. Easy fix and I now have front and rear parking assist.
