2008 SRX Hesitation around 1800-200Rpm

2008 v6 SRX , 103k miles (I’m not sure what specific package it is).

I bought this carused, drove it a bit and noticed that on the highway, in traffic (30-40 MPH)that the engine would hesitate/stutter. It used to be real bad, I would literally jerk forward, and then it would catch up and smooth out until the next time I needed to decelerate/ accelerate due to driving conditions. It seems to happen just around 1800 – 2000 rpms and when going up hill, coasting in traffic then accelerating, once it goes over 2100 rpms it catches and accelerates smoothly. I’ve checked the codes and there are none. A side note that may be pertinent, The car was also burning quite a bit of oil at the time, around two quarts in 1100 miles. They put some cleaner through the engine, re topped off the oil and monitored it a bit, and that seems to have resolved the oil burning, (at least down to 1 quart per 1200 miles or so).

I had brought it backto the dealer related to the hesitation and they replaced the throttle body ands said "all set". It still happened under the same process ( driving up hill, coast for traffic, accelerate @1800RPM), I reset the throttle body (key off and back on alternating 30-60seconds) and that seemed to help a bit for a while but it’s regressing again. Using the sport mode (manual shift without shifting) helps a bit as well, it doesn’t seem to happen as often but it does still occur just at a slightly higher RPM. If anyone needs more info just let me know I love this car except this one issue drives me nuts...

I’m bringing it in for an oil change this weekend and if anyone has any ideas what could /should be checked I’d appreciate it.
