So i recently bought a 2007 srx, v6 rwd, with 76000 miles. after a few days, i noticed that after initial start up and take off, upon decelerating, it would shift down rather abruptly. (exactly at 20mph) almost like a jerk, but definitely noticeable. now it only does that after first starting, then accelerating, then decelerating. after you start and stop again, it wont do it. if i turn the car off and restart, then take off and slow down again, it will replicate, but only once, and wont do it again until i restart the vehicle. any ideas?

 

Hi,
most common problem - the oil level in the tranny. Too much or too little and you have a problem. Let somebody competent check it. Mind, there is no dipstick, you have to lift the car. Good luck.
