Questions about scan readings on '94 STS

Hi all-

I don't post much, but maybe someone here can shine some light on my confusion.

I'll start off by saying this: the car runs beautiful, no complaints at all.

During a scan today, using a newly updated genesys scanner, I noticed in the data stream that the cam pulse was not showing up, consistantly, only flipping between "no" and "yes" randomly onscreen. Also, there are listings as follows:

QDM1, QDM2, and QDSM 1, 2, and 3. They all show as "ok" except QDSM 2, which shows "fault". I know what qdm's are, but what are qdsm's?

I also forgot to say there are no codes present or history stored. Can anyone shine some light on this? I'm more curious than anything.

Thanks everyone!

QDM - Quad Driver Module its kind of a like a circuit breaker, within a control module. Unfortunately pre OBD2 Cadillacs powered by Cadillac engines are not designed for scanner diagnostics in reguards to powertrain. Scanners can get you way of base. Use Onboard - View PD16 & 17 and post what you find.

Ok. Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that about obd1 caddys.

Anyways, I checked the PCM data, pd16 came up 0001 and pd17 came up 0000. Does that help?
