98 Cadillac STS passenger power windows and locks not working
My drivers door works great the windows locks and power mirror work on this door only, there is no function on any other doors. I replaced the splice under the drivers seat it was corroded, and checked all the fuses and relays. there is no clicking or any thing from either the drivers controls or door controls. I was told by the previous owner that it might be a RIM, but from what i understand if the RIM was bad i should be getting more electricial issues other than the doors. Thanks for any help

The RIM or Rear Integration Module may have a problem. You really need FSM for this car. There are several modules that make up BCM. I would be surprised if RIM would fix all your problems. Poor grounds can cause all kinds of problems. There is a long e-ghost thread involving Rickyd sts which could be helpful for info.

Yeah that thread helped me find the splice and other problems. They all seemed to have power going to the doors after fixing the splice. This car had some leaks when i bought it, I fixed all the leaks, now this is the only major problem. do you think a FSM would help me trace down the problem?

If I order a new RIM would it have to be reprogrammed for my car through GM?

The FSM will help work on car there a 2 books. It will list where all the components are, and how to test them. Grounds are a big deal with Cadillacs, and water leaks can troublesome. Good luck with RIM. Either way post results.

I think i will look at all the grounds before spending 400 on a new RIM. Will look for a FSM today
