77 help

trying to help a friend with an issue he's having with his 77. two issues arise that both result in the car running poorly (ie - acts like it's running out of gas, stalls, etc). the car acts like this - 1. when the engine gets hot and 2. when driving at higher speeds (50-60). the mechanics around here in idaho can't figure it out, most of whom can't even get a book on it! fuel filter has been replaced as well as other stuff (don't know off-hand). one person mentioned to him that the fuel line might be too close to the engine, and when the fuel heats up, that's when he gets the problems. any ideas? thanks.

RE: 77 help

Hey King: Sounds a little like a vapour lock to me. Try driving under said conditions with the gas cap loosened off. See if that makes any difference at all. Will check my manuals for any other hints.Chow.
