RE: 01'STS Service System Stability message
Usually a bad steering wheel position sensor. The column has to be removed from the car for replacement.

RE: 01'STS Service System Stability message
ITS A SENSOR PROBLEM--OR AS IN MY CASE THE SENSOR IN THE HUB(BEHIND THE DISC BRAKES). ITS EXPENSIVE, SO GO TO A MECHANIC YOU KNOW AND HAVE HIM GET YOU AND INSTALL THE PART. THE HUB IS APPROX $350-500 PLUS LABOUR.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well today i got my car back from the dealer. I took it in for the Service Stability Sytem message. The code i pulled from the car was ABS C1287. That turned out to be a bad steering wheel position sensor. They replaced it and all is now good. Part cost about $85 labor $100. Hope this helps a bit. Mario 2002 STS 76000 miles |
