Allante retractible hardtop

I didn't even think there was such a thing, but now I see one for sale. Way too rich for me, but very interesting. Check out the EBay link to see this apparently one-of-a-kind Allante.

RE: Allante retractible hardtop

Too bad the retractable was really too late for the Allante. If there was ever going to be an allante collector car it might be this one. IMO none of the others accept maybe a pristine '93 will be worth more than a couple k in the future, partly bacause of the top, and the earlier model issues.

RE: Allante retractible hardtop

Bill from Racine, WI, thanks for the head up. i dont spend so much time
looking at new listings these days and your find is a nice one.

hereon, the details

the car is current a resident of Tucson AZ, 17,000 miles on the clock, emblems removed.
it is a '93 VIN so lacking pictures, I'll jump to assuming it is powered by an early NorthStar engine,
1st generation.

rumor has it that GM paid $250,000 to have this done back in '93 for the
North American International Auto Show '94, in Detroit, Mich.
