squeak from speedo
I am assuming the speedometer cable needs to be lubricated because I hear a squeaking while driving my 89 brougham. Is it a big job to fix??? Thanks

RE: squeak from speedo
There is no lubrication schedule, or lubricating procedure for the speedometer cable. The noise you are hearing is probably dashboard noise. Tighten the screws on the sides of the dash cover, the defroster vents, lower dash panel, and either side of the speedometer cluster. Also lubricating the doorjambs, hood hinges, and chassis grease points will reduce the noise.

RE: squeak from speedo
Speedo cable(s) can be lubed with either a very light grease or or graphite based lubricant (Anti-seize). If car has cruise control disconnect cables from transducer. You can pull cable from lower casing with needle nose pliers. Upper cable (or no cruise transducer) need to remove speedometer head; and pull cable from casing with pliers. There is a retainer at back of speedo for cable that has to be depressed to release cable. You need a book to remove speedo due to hidden screws.
