Problems starting UP my 94 fleetwood
 

Hey everybody,

New to the forum and am in need of information badly.
I just picked up a 94 fleetwood that was running great...but the other day at a friends bbq I couldnt get my car to start and has been at her house ever since.

So I want getting any power to any electronics...so I tried jump starting the car to no avail. I bought a new battery...still no response. When I turn the key nothing happens...the engine wont turn over. I hear faint beeping and weird ticks.

Can anyone clue me in? Im worried it might have something to do with the security system but really have no clue.

i had the same problem with my 93 Sedan DeVille .... i drove into the parking lot of the arboretum and cut the car off and went through the place ......... when i returned to the car and turned the key .... NOTHING .... dead as a doornail .... i called the Cadillac dealer and had the car hauled off to them .... discovered it was the electronic chip in the key had malfunctioned and locked me out .... they had to replace the starter coil and a new key ($400.00 later) i was driving happy ..... hope this helps ...
