1992 Brougham Climate Control

Hello,
When the A/C is running the climate control system will go from AUTO MODE to OFF for no reason. Seems to be more frequent when temps are higher. Will not go into AUTO until the car is allowed to sit. A/C is cold and freon level is full. Any ideas from the experts?
