19901 Fleetwood stalling, then restarts with full pedal.
My 90 Fleetwood stalls about every 30 miles or so. I pull over and she will not start by simply turning the key. She restarts if I depress the accelerator to the floor and then runs without issue for another week or so. I replaced the ignition control module, but it just happened again. I have ordered a throttle position sensor. Any other ideas as to what may be causing this. 80K miles.

Stalling
TPS shouldn't cause the stalling, nor do they go south very often. Did you pull any codes from the DIC?? Check out the coolant temp. sensor connection and wire to see if it is shorting out somewhere. Make sure sensor is good.

An engine needs three things to run, Fuel, Air, Spark.
I would go simple rather than spending more money on expensive modules and sensors. I am going to suggest replacing the fuel filter and air filter. Do you fill you tank with gas or run low? Keep it topped up to avoid condensation in the tank = water and to avoid having the sending unit suck air. What size engine do you have? |
i rarely drive more than 13 months go between driving that far so would problery do nothing my self
