Installed new throttle body on 2012 Escalade

Hello this is my first post to the site so I hope I'm posting this question in the right section. I just replaced my throttle body on my escalade due to a P0121 code and I have the high and unusual idle issue. I've read the forums on the relearn process but so far there has been little improvement in the idle and overall low speed idle. My question is simple. Is the ecm going to relearn the correct idle or do I need to take it to the dealer to attach their computer to it? The forums are filled with success stories and failures of the relearn process and so far my vehicle after about 75 miles hasn't resolved itself. I did the process of let run for 3 minutes, off for 60 seconds then back on for 3 minutes and doesn't seem to change anything. I'm just wondering if I'm forced to go to have someone to calibrate it or given enough time it will resolve itself. Thank you!

Do you still have TDC? There were some concerns with the throttle body connector. do you have access to factory service manual on line or digital? if not it might be worth taking it in.

Hi thanks for responding. I have no codes being thrown after the install. The car did not have this issue prior to changing the throttle body. Was just throwing a P0121 code.

The current status is the idle will settle to 600-700 rpm at a stop after 2-3 seconds but it's the idle running high as I'm coming to a stop and the trani working against the high idle causing harsher than normal downshifts at very low speed. I'm pretty frustrated at this point. This shouldn't be this difficult imo. Any other suggestions? I don't have access to a service manual. Thanks.

I think I'm going to have to take it into the dealer. It's just not right at low speeds. Tranni is really working against the Rpms. At regular traffic and highway speeds it seems normal.

I agree it needs to be scanned. good luck
