2007 Escalade Wheel Swap Advice

I am currently negotiating for an 2007 Escalade that has the 18" standard wheels. I have made an offer on the vehicle subject to the dealer swapping the wheels with another Escalade that has the 22" wheels that I want. Here is the response that I got:

"I have met with our management. It is not possible for us to exchange wheels from one new vehicle to another. It has been our experience with tire height, tire pressure monitoring and computer controlled stabilitrak systems, it is not wise to change original configuation of vehicles from the manufacturers specifications."

This sounds like possible BS to me - the guy is looking for an excuse not to make the swap. Is this legitimate?

Is it a new '07 or a used 07?

Dealers used to do this all the time. I figurethe ride height of the two has to be the same and the manufacturer specifications would be the same since it is the same vehicle. I think they just will have a harder time selling the 22" model with the 18" wheels on it and then answering the questions that go with that. If I was the sales manager I'd give you the same answer I'm afraid.

22" wheel and tire package is availible as a dealer installed option and GM accessories installed listed on new vehicle sales contract would carry the 4 yr /50k warranty, in Cadillac case. Dealers are not encourged to swap equipment from vehicle to vehicle, but it happens. I don't believe many dealers will swap a 3-4000.00 set of wheels and tires just to make a deal. So if you want the 22s and don't mind paying for them, tell your saleman you want it as a dealer installed option. If they still won't work with you, find another dealer who will, I am certain you can.Hope it helps

Hello, i have the 2007 Cadillac Escalade, and i think you should keep the OEM 18's just because its easier and they're better IMO. For example, the OEM 22's i have rub and they are OEM! wtf?

you can find the 22's on ebay for less, the dealer will not swap besides the dollar value i tried at a gmc dealer it might be the warranty part or the vin that ties the wheels to the vehicle.i have the 22's and they are nice especially when u roll up on another sportin 18's but i am still thinking 26's for me 2 be satisfied.
