Okay I have recently purchased an 07 Escalade base with Nav and XM. I want to be able to blue tooth my phone to the head unit so I can talk hands free and stream music. I have looked at many options, Isimple, upgrade unit etc. Can anyone help me out with experiance help me with this? I have seen alot of posts on this but still have questions. I have heard isimples can nuke your nav unit, also how do they blue tooth your calls, does it utilize the factory onstar mic or do you have to install one. What happens to your radio once the phone rings? I saw you could upgrade to a 2010 unit with Nav and have all these features intergrated like factoy, that way I saw people have nightmares with programming them to work with your vin. Thanks to any help as I realize this is lengthy I just don't want to waste any money on somthing that won't do what I want.

 

If you subscribe to OnStar you can do hands free. OnStar advisor or dealer can explain and answer questions. Radio mutes when on the phone. I'm not sure about installing newer radio and getting all features. GM doesn't have a lot of "plug n play" accessories anymore.
