Need help with A/C Fault code

Hello,

I just bought a 1995 Eldorado and received this fault:
F12 - A/C Low Side Temperature Sensor Circuit

I am stationed in Japan with the Navy and it is very hard to get English support for this. If you know what it is can you also give me a part number too please. Thank you for your help.

There are 2 small black sensors on a/c line that runs across firewall. The one on the passenger side should be low side temp sensor, hope for poor connection. I believe sensor was discontinued several years ago. Get a FSM being overseas you will need it.

Slowroll,

Thanks, I found the sensors. They were easy to find. So if they don't make them anymore what am I supposed to do to get a replacement? I am not going to get a FSM because I will ship the car back to the states in March. Maybe get the sensor from a junk yard? If I can what models have the same sensor?

Thanks,
Andrew

You really still need the books if you plan on keeping car. Sensors are found on 90-99 FWD Cadillacs.

Fixed it

I talked to the mechanics on base and they put 1 can of refrigerent in the car and it works fine now. I will try to get the books. I really don't like to rely on anybody to fix my car in Japan, Everything is difficult over here. Thanks to everyone for the reponses.

Andrew

it sounds low refrigerant shut down the compressor.
you should have a code when that happens.

next time the car does something weird, get to our FAQ on pulling codes and get us those. you be surprised what we can do if we know the codes.

best of luck with the gi... .. err .. i mean the car.
