Help! I Need Another Ignition Key for My 1994 Eldorado!!!
Hello Forum,
I recently purchased a 1994 Eldorado.
Sadly, the seller could only produce 1 original ignition key.
I was told the other original ignition key (and a gold key, at that!) was buried along with a previous owner of the car.
Should I be wanting another Pass Key II ignition key, and if so, how do I get one?
Or should I focus on disabling this theft deterrent system?
Thank you for your thoughts!
Charley

Measure the resistance between black element contacts on the opposite sides of the key you have got (I assume it is working). Then choose the right key here: https://www.keycraze.com/vats-keys.html. Just check there the correct type of key. It worked for 93 Sixty Special, so 94 Eldo might use similar, if not the same, system.

often cheaper to just cut the wire (orange I think but not sure, do not touch the yellow that is airbag) where it comes out of the column, solder the proper resistor across the two leads heading back towards the firewall, tape it up - then just go get a copy of the key at a good locksmith - no more resistor needed in the key

I was able to get a VATS key cut for my 1994 Eldorado.
$27.81
After the key was cut, initially it would not turn in the ignition. But the guy tweaked the new key a bit (With a file? I didn't see what he did.) and got it to work just fine.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:
