Either way, now you know what to expect. If it's running fine and just the gauge not reading is a nuisance, then you can wait to have it done.
It's always good to know about how many miles you usually get out of a fill-up exactly for this reason. Running out of gas is embarrassing.

yes, why buy a pump $60, and pay xxx to have installed when the Eldo is running fine....just keep a log of miles in glove box......not here to make other folks rich. (I have bigger fish to fry...smile)
