Black 2009 DTS Grille
 

Since my 2009 front bumper, fender, headlamp, hood and grille are due for an unfortunate $6,000+ replacement, I thought this would be a good time for an appearance update.

Previously, I thought I saw a few posts of DTS's with black grilles instead of the stock chrome but can't seem to find them now.

Looks like the grille is available online for under $150.

Anyone made this swap? Any particular issues to be aware of?

It was factory option and is available at the Dealer, referred to as Sports Grille in GM speak.

I like the black grille better than the original chrome - however, bug and rock chips seem to be taking their toll so some touch-up will be needed to eliminate the shiny spots.

My 2008 Performance came with black and my base 2010 is brushed aluminum. I could go for either one but both cars are black if that makes a differance.

does your grille have a blue tint in certain light ?

No - it stays flat black - still haven't touched up the little chips yet . . .
