06 DTS Bank 1 o2 sensor siezed

So here we go...new guy in dire need of help on this one. I have an 06 DTS that has a seized o2 sensor. And...its the firewall side. I'm gettin old and fat and reaching that booger is really hard so for Xmas my wife said "have the shop fix it."

They choked. They don't have the gear or know-how to get at it or pull the manifold to do a bench service on it. Me? I've done hag jobs before but this one looks really special.

Has anybody got any shop manuals or experience doing this job that they can shoot my way? I can't afford the dealership--I've seen drug habits cheaper then my local shop--and I need to get back on the road.

Any help would be golden.
Thanks for looking.

I'd agree with your wife, bite the bullet and take it to the dealer. Emission warranty is 8 years, when did car go in service.

Any Luck?

I have the same problem with my 2006 DTS were you able to get the oxygen sensor out and how did you do it?

It will need to be heated with a oxy/ acetalyne torch to the red hot stage to remove it and then it will be iffy if it comes out. It will have to be rethreaded. I would just buy a used exaust manifold off ebay and replace it. I have dealt with many stuck o2 sensors over the years and they will usually start to turn and then stop as the threads start to bunch up. A propane torch will not heat it up enough for removal so don't waste your time. This is not a easy job and you will have to access the underside of the car to remove it. Professional help is reccommended. If you are stuck on doing this your self pm me and I will send you the factory service instructions for it but they are brief and don't tell you much beside to remove it.
