running lights out
Just purchased a 1999 Cadillac Deville from Ebay seller. He said it passed inspection. WhenI got it home, I noticed the running lights on the right hand side were not on. I called him and he said it may be a fuse. The blinker brake light work, just the running lights, all on the front and back and on the side. The fuse was blown. When I put the fuse in , it blew again, right away. What can that be or where should i go to look. Theblower kicks on for a second and goes on and when it does ,it is weak. Can they be connected to the same problem?

RE: running lights out
If a fuse blow it means there is a short in the circuit. You should look on the fuse box diagram in the owners manual and see what else is on that circuit and start checking those things. Broken bulbs, corroded sockets, loose wiring are some of the things to check out.

RE: running lights out
He SAID it passed inspection. Did it? Did he show you? It can be tough buying a car on e-bay.It shouldn't be too hard to trace the short. Posting the results would be appreciated. Good luck

RE: running lights out
Are these lights required for inspection. He said he is a dealer and gave me a temporary permit thing for 30 days

RE: running lights out
Was he talking about a state inspection, if so what state, or was he talking about a dealer check list inspection?
