POWER STEERING ASSIST PROBLEM

I have a 2000 DHS. The power steering assist is not working. I had the system flushed but no luck. I read that the solenoid for the PS assist is fused. I'd like to check that before I replace the rack and pinion. Does anyone know where the fuse is located? Thanks!

Do you have warning message on DIC?

RE: POWER STEERING ASSIST PROBLEM

Hi. I probably do, but I haven't run the diagnostics. I'm just going by the symptoms, hard steering below 1000 rpm. Otherwise, the steering is responsive and tight. Will the DIC narrow down the problem? I'll run the OBD and see if there is a code. Thanks!

RE: POWER STEERING ASSIST PROBLEM

I'm back, finally. Happy Thanksgiving.

No warning display, no C codes. Just living with it now. Not too troublesome. I've been reading up on changing the rack. We'll see...
