P0603 - Control Module Long Term Memory Reset

It must be one of those days
1997 deville 152,000 miles
replaced the alternator last week but did not clear the codes afterwards but don't remember (p0603) this code being present

Started it this morning and after about 3 seconds it died, tried to restart and it acted like it was out of fuel.
Grabbed the other car and went to work, came home and after cranking a few seconds( I guess enough time for fuel to get in the system) it started and ran fine

all of the codes are in history --none are current
in order they are

p0603
b1552
b1147
b0533
b1552
b1983

b0533 is fuel related but it is an old code

any ideas what caused the p0603 or was it related to having the battery disconnected for alternator repair -- battery was disconnected for a couple of days

If the fuel pump is acting up wouldn't it through a code ?

any help is really appreciated
Bill

RE: P0603 - Control Module Long Term Memory Reset

The P0603 and the B1*** codes are most likely due to the battery disconnect and to the bad alternator before. The B0533 indicates a problem at the fuel level sensor and this may or may not be related to the power outage.

Clear all codes and see if any of them will come back. Long cranking could be either because of a weak/failing fuel pump or a bad/leaking FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator). Fuel additives can be detrimental to the pump windings.
