Default I need help!

Dear all,

I have a problem with the ignition of a 1966 Cadillac Deville. Somebody mixed up the wires and I do not know, which plug is the #1 cylinder on the distributor cap. any ideas?

And firing order is 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 . Correct? Its a 429 engine.

Unfortuately there are no numbers on the cap.

can you help me?

Hans

1-5-6-3-4-2-7-8

Number one cylinder is the front right (passenger side) cylinder, and the cylinders are numbered 1-3-5-7 on the passenger side, and 2-4-6-8 on the drivers side. if you get the number one piston to the top the rotor will point where 1 is use a #2 pencil to feel the top of the piston after you pull plug

Hi Dons2277,

Are you shure? My 66 Cadillac 429 engine is wired

1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3

and is running with this firing order.

Would it run, if it is wrong?
