humming noise in 1997 deville
I hear a humming noise coming from the rear of car when i first start it. The humming noise only lasts around 5- 10 seconds and then goes away after the car is warmed up and/or I start driving it. What is this noise? Is it serious? Does the car have an automatic leveling option on it and this is what is happening? I read somewhere it could be the fuel pump and that there is one in the rear of the car. Any help would appreciate it! [X(]Thanks!

most cars will make a humming noise from the fuel pump. try this...get in the car, and turn the key to "on", but dont start it...can you hear the pump?

Hi,
I turned the car on but didn't start it and got out to hear the humming coming from the rear of the car. Do you think this is still the fuel pump or the leveling system? The sounds only lasts about 5-8 seconds. Thanks! |

Ha! Finally one I know!!!
It's the antenna! The same thing happened when I got my caddy... that noise drove me crazy until I found out what it was. It's the electric antenna. This board is really helpful as long as you don't listen to Patrick!! LOL-Lovin my Caddy! |

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think it's the power antenna because I do not have the radio on when it is making this noise.
