high performance intake and exhaust

1981 Cadillac Coupe Deville D'Elegance with the switching 4,6,8 cyl. I want to get some more horsepower but having trouble finding parts. Also looking for some leather seats.

Hey there: Do you have the 368c.i. engine in your ride? I have this engine and have been thinking of getting some more horses as well. I have the 1981 Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance. Haven't heard of any parts that are available but really haven't done any research at this point in time , keep me posted on any luck you may have. Chow.

RE: high performance intake and exhaust

i got my engine back from the shop. They did a good job rebuilding it. I didn't get the intake manifold gaskets in the set so i gotta wait a little bit. This is my first time ever working on a car before, by the way. I'm not sure if i even have the right bolts for the intake manifold. The books that i have show different size bolts for other size engines but do not show a picture of the bolts for my 368 cu. If anyone knows i really could use some advice!!!

RE: high performance intake and exhaust

Hey there ATX: Good to hear that you got your power plant back. What did the overhaul cost you???. Was checking my manuals and couldn't come up with any bolt sizing for the intake. Did you have any perf. modifications done on your overhaul? Found out by trial and error on my engine that the throttle position sensor, which is on the side of the throttle body is a critical adjustment for the timing of the engine. The sensor is adjustable and made a big difference to the h.p. as the sensor tells the computer where to set the timing during acceleration. Hope you are having fun with the rebuild. Chow for now, Don.
