96 Deville 4.6l running hot
Replaced the water outlet on the water pump body because of leak near one'
of the 10mm bolts. Reused existing thermostat....replaced the seal. No leaks.
Put 3 crushed Barrs tablets in the lower hose and buttoned it up. The vehicle
is now runnin hot 218 to 222 on both local and highway speeds. Removed the purge line at the coolant reservoir and nice steady stream of coolant.
The stream increased when vehicle is accelerated. I guess that eliminates
any problems with purge line. Ordered new AC Delco radiator cap and thermostat. Radiator is one year old. Is it possible that the tablets may have
clogged the radiator or the thermostat? Any ideas or comments are appreciated
