Electric Door Locks Stiff
I just bought a 1994 sedan deville. The remote will not fully move the front door locks to lock position. Both back doors function perfectly. The front doors only move about 1/2 way down and will come back up when the unlock button on the remote is punched. But they refuse to go the full lock position when the lock button is pushed. What's up? What is making them stiff and can it be easily cured? Thanks for the help

Door lock actuators may need boot kits - repair kit for door lock actuator.

Thanks, slowroll. Are the kits expensive? Are they easy to install? I really appreciate your advice.

Kit will be dealer part. It is moderately hard the first time but after a couple hundred they aren't a big deal. If you try it yourself - DOOR PANELS LIFT OFF! - if you pull them out they will break. Actuator mounts to lock or latch, 2 connectors and 4 rods are attached to it.

Thank you very much. I do appreciate your expertise. I may look at them. I have worked on electric windows before and know that door panels are a pain. On the other hand, manually locking the doors will take me back to my childhood. Abebull
