abs and traction control

I am having trouble with my 97 Cadillac Deville. I need help diagnosing why the abs and traction control lights keep coming on. They come on usually when I start the car, they sometimes come on after driving a ways. The traction control is on when the lights are on.
I have read a lot of the posts about it and so far have cleaned wheel sensor connections and checked sensor resistance(they all are within 50ohms of 1100ohms). I have cleaned the grounds at front door sills, under rear seat and under mat in left rear of trunk. Today I disconnected the big connector at the big abs component at front left engine compartment and cleaned it. The abs and traction control lights still come on as described above. What next?

Have you checked for any codes? Check the FAQ section here for help in getting the codes from the On Board Diagnostics, or you can go to your local Autozone, and they will scan it for you for free. Just be sure that they check ALL of the modules for codes.
It definitely sounds like a wheel speed sensor. It may not be the connections, tho...it could be the sensor itself is bad, or has a lot of rust, or metal contamination from the brakes, which changes the strength/frequency of the pulses it sends to the modules. A weak signal from one of the speed sensors will turn the lights on, and set a code. We need to determine WHAT code(s) it has, first.;)

abs and traction control

Thank you for replying Adams Apple. Sorry to take so long to respond, things have been a bit busy.

The only current codes were PZM B0533 and MMM B2144. However, B2144 changed to history the second time I brought up the codes, so now the only one that says current is PZM B0533.

There were a lot of history codes. PCM P0405, P0603, P1404. IPC B1552, C1210. ACM B1341. SDM B1148. TCS C1243, C1255. PZM B1552, B1971, B1983.

And at the end there was "PCM?"

Thank you.

I learned that PZM B0533 is the fuel guage. It has always not worked. Right now my main concern is the abs and traction control.
