'98 Deville with speedometer reading zero and tranny slipping
Hey Boys,
This is what I got. I have a 1998 Deville that started to slip with the tranny. I also noticed that the speedometer was very erratic with the readings. It would go from 50 to 38 to 19 to 0 to 45 to 28 to 50 mph while maintaing a constant speed. Now the problem is solid with the speedometer reading zero and the transmission slipping contantly. I ordered the VSS sensor but have no idea where excalty it is located. HELP! |

Take off the passenger side wheel.
Then follow the CV axle to the transmission. Just above where the axle meets the trans and about 6 - 8 inches inboard is the VSS. One 10mm bolt attaches it to the transmission. |

Found the VSS sensor behind passenger wheel and replaced it. It fixed the problem. The sensor cost me $18.00 at AutoBarn Parts. Thanks FLCaddtech.
