'96 Deville Factory Alarm Arming Itself

My '96 Deville has a tendancy to arm it's factory alarm automatically. As far as I know it's automatically. I do not have a working remote to arm / disarm it so I use the door key. What I would like to know is how or why is it arming itself? Is there any way I can get it to stop arming automatically without disconnecting it. I would like to keep it in working condition in case I or any future owners would like to purchase a new remote. Thanks.

moneymark25...... try locking the doors from inside the car..... pwr lk button, or push the individual dr button....... i think once you use the KEY it arms itself...... let the Forum know if this works.

I always use the driver's door power lock button, as I do not have a working remote. You think that's whats doing it? Because it seems the alarm only arms sometimes.

I don't know how to do that. There's no option on it as far as I can see. The only way I know to disarm it is by using the door key in the door after the alarm is already going off. But it's kind of emarrassing with the alarm going off on me when I'm in public.

Not knowing your specifics, i will say it is very standard to set the alarm by
locking the door with the power switch before closing the door.

It is also very standard to DISARM the system by inserting the key on a door and
turning it.

remote or no remote ...
