What is supposed to be wrong with it? Is it worth buying? It depends on overall condition of car. Mileage is a concern, however engine and trans are just componets.Rust and excessive body damage, are major factors. The most important one is: Do like the car and can you realisticaly afford to maintain or repair it. Never buy a car you don't like even just to sell it, because you just be stuck with it.If car is in good condition,no rust, and 90% of the stuff works it problely worth buying. But then again what wrong with it?

What is wrong, that they say it's the computer? ECMs can be bought at most parts stores.I prefer AC Delco available at dealer or some parts stores.Should cost less at delco supplier than dealer. You can get used a used one from salvage yard, but you will need # off old one. Used ones normally are not returnable other than for credit, and they may want your old one. Check before buying. # needs to match and there should not be any corrosion on or in it ,prom / chip needs to be transfered from original to which ever ecm you get, idle will have to be learned also. Hope it helps

When it went bad he took it to a cadillac dealer but just didn't have the money to have it fixed so he parked it, so i could get 1 at a salvage yard how do i go about moving the chip to the new 1?

Ecm is mounted under passenger side of dash against firewall. Make sure key is not in ignition.unplug 2 connectors, take nut holding it to bracket off.Lift ecm, flip bracket down , and slide ecm out. There is a door with 2 trox or 1/4" headed screws. Remove screws and door. remove chips from both ecms gently re-install into ,do do force it, one you are goning to use.Re-install ecm.Start engine allow to idle for 15-20 min Then put in drive with a/c off, let idle 3 min.Turn a/c on set at 60 and let idle for 3 more min.Turn engine off then restart and hope its fixed. Hope it helps

No one can tell from what you said about the car. If the body isdam near almost perfectthen, YEA it is worth it... just buy the car for 600 and buy the engine AND transmission 4rm me (140,000) needs nothing ($300). You can go to an auction and find a nice 1991-1993-ish deville for about $1000. I bought a 1992 deville PERFECT all it needed was a waterpump didnt cost **** really i did it myself it was easy and a new distributor. Totall price to fix it was about 100-200 dollars and it ran like new. I drove it home 200 miles with it passing out on me every stop on the highway. It only cost me 800 dollars. Yup, it was perfect..... but then I SMASHED it..... I mean Smashed it into a cutlass.......
