88deville turns over but no start
 

i have an 88 deville, driving home on a long trip one day car just cut off. Got it started but won't start again. turns over but won't catch. changed distributor cap started for a few days now its doing the same thing again. battery fully charged, new ignition coil, lost. if anyone can help i would really appreciate it, trying to avoid the mechanics bill. Thanks for any replies

Check you eng compression and if it’s ok check for fuel and recheck you cap and firing order.

The car has an onboard diagnostic system. That is the first place to look. Trouble codes will have been set, IF you do not unhook the battery(power supply). Doing that erases all codes and until you get some mileage back on the car, the only code you will get is E52(power disruption). The oil-pressure sensor is an enginesafeguard.When low oil pressure in the engine isdetected, the sensor will stop the flow of fuel to the TB.Possibly that is the problem, but just a guess...........No telltale lights had illuminated?
