2004 Deville poor snow handling
 

2004 deville handles like crap in any snow, only has 45,000 miles, new tires etc. very unstable. Dry pavement does great. What to do? Thanks! Dave

be patient and learn how to drive it in snow and ice. make sure air pressure is at 32-35psi, warning lights?

in my opinion i think the caddy has too much torque for the snow and ice on a FWD setup. i had the same issues with my Seville. even with the traction control button pushed (2nd gear starts) which is supposed to help by allowing you to take off from a start without spinning as much. just have to grannie start and you just have to piss off the guys behind you ha ha. once i got going i thought the cady did fine just not from a start.

The problem isn't deep snow just slush snow covered roads etc. The thing slides to and fro like it has rear wheel drive.

could also be the brand of tire as well. i had a set of brand new pirelli tires on my seville and it felt like the car was losing traction over bumps and was very harsh on the suspension. i replaced them with michelins and it was as if the car was "one with the road" snow and ice was still a challenge but like i said i thought the Northstar caddy's have to much torque for city driving. although iv never had the issue with the rear end like you describe.

ill bet the tires may possibly be part of the issue. even though the tire ,ight be all season doesnt mean that it does good in all conditions. some are better in wet than they are in dry vise versa.
