2004 Deville How warm do your heated seats get?

My front heated seats seem to be acting up. When I first got the car, they seemed to work fine and get nice and toasty. Now, I can barely feel any heat on them at all. The rear heated seats still work great. I have gone to Kocourek Chevrolet in Rib Mountain, WI for diagnosis and repair. They have replaced all of the modules (they told me the fan and module are all one unit) in the seat. They also replaced the seat pad on the drivers side, saying that maybe the venting was clogged.

After that, I drove the car for about 20-30 minutes with the heated seat on high. I can feel some heat on the back of the seat, but the only heat that I feel on the part where you actually sit is two spots that are mildly heating on the back of my knee. The rest of the seating surface does not seem to heat. And I don't mean it just gives off a little heat, I mean I can feel basically nothing. Kocourek has told me over and over again that this is normal and that the seat is functioning properly. When I told them that the seat used to get hotter, they told me that that is because the modules were getting too hot and they actually burnt themselves out. The mechanic said that when he did an ohm reading on the old module, it was reading way off the charts and that's what caused the unit to burn itself out.

Logically, this makes no sense to me. My guess is that they think they have done everything that they can do, but the seat still does not work properly.

So, my question is, how warm do your seats get? Can you definitely feel the heat where you sit? Also, have you ever run into this problem before and if so, what did you do to fix it?

Thanks!

Thanks for your input. They actually replaced the pad, but in this particular vehicle, it's my understanding that there are no wires running through/on the pad. From what I have seen and read online, there is a heating element below the seat and a fan that pushes the warm air through the vents to the seating surface.

Any ideas?

ok then check the filter under the seat and make sure the fan is working
if you can send the last 8 of your vin i could see what option u have and maybe able to pin point the problem

Filter seems fine. Fan is running, but changes speeds a lot.

Were you able to find some kind of diagram online?
