I've also got a question about the dash on a 2000 Deville. My dash is starting to peel up on the far right passanger side. Any one got any tips or ideas on how to go about fixing this? I was thinking maybe I could try to use epoxy and a putty knife and then put something heavy on itto hold itutill it dries.

So what's wrong with your dash bbjohnny?

My dash is also peeling on both corners. If I knew how to remove it I could try a repair before I buy a new one.

Gorilla is the standard glue used by various Caddy guys to re glue the pad down.

They usually find a way to get the glue under the pad, and then put pressure to keep it down until the glues sets.
One can use towels between the glass and the pad to do this, but some have used lead weights.
Whatever you use, try it for the weight before the glue is applied. IF that doesnt work, you may have to remove the dash pad and correct the problem on the bench. Removing is not as hard as it is time consuming. I suggest you get a FACTORY MANUAL ($30 to $75) that shows all the details for your specific model. You can take a short cut and go to a dealer and ask them to print the parts breakdown for the dash .. they still have the 2000 models on the computers.

hope that helps a bit ...

With all this talk about the dash pads warping, turning up on the corners, etc., why aren't we pressing Cadillac more to make good on this apparent build or cheap workmanship issue?? I have just gotten turned down by Cadillac Support on getting this issue fixed in my 2001 DHS.I plan to pursue this further but we all should bepushing thisissue! I've seen Deville after Deville with the same problem. We need to press it. $50,000 automobiles ought not be doing this. Things like this caused us to run for foreign cars in the mid-70's . I've never seen a warped dash in a Lexus![:@]

How to remove upper dash, at one time a saw-all came to mind........... I start to list all the steps involved to replace upper dash, but then thougtht you would better served to acquire a factory shop manual from Helm inc., ebay, or used manual venders. After aquiring book repost if you still have trouble.
