1995 Deville burning smell in dash??

1995 Deville, driving along and heard sort of a snap, crackle, and pop behind the dash somewhere going down the road. The A/C fan went off by itself, and then back on, then off, then on......now whenver the A/C is on, the air out of the vents smells burnt. The thing is, the A/C works now, and every switch and button in the entire car works. Any ideas? It isn't anything under the hood, for sure under the dash.

Any ideas? A shop looked at it but said they found nothing, even with a camera scoped up in there. Smells like burnt electronics or burnt plastic or something. I actually smell like it on my clothes when I come in the house. And no, it can't be some A/C filter because it smells burnt all of a sudden, and did so the moment the A/C blower fan went off and on by itself. This car only has 24,000 miles on it! Yes, 24k. The car is immaculate, even smelled new until this event.

Any help is appreciated!!!

Check the recirculation vents in the floor under the front seats and in the consol where the vents blow in the rear seat. Everyone probably just looked under the dash since that's where the smell seems to come from but those vents run all over the car.

Also check the blower resistor. It's mounted in the top of the plastic air conditioning manifold thing in the engine bay up and over to the left from the blower motor. It's positioned right after the a/c evaporator. I think it's right under or near the wiper motor. It has a cut out in the plastic that says 'for service cut here' or something like that... sounds like it burnt out
