1991 Deville questions

My father sold a car part of the deal was receving a 1991 Deville with the 4.9 V8. Its that Texas A&M brown. So we decided to get the car running and pass inspection to give for free to a friend in need of a car. Its been sitting for a year. New tires just got installed. Car runs and drives with minor coolant and oil leaks.

First I dont know anything about cadillacs and hate working on front wheel drive cars. Second problem the A/C compressor froze causing the belt to rip. I bought a book believe its called Chitlon and it totally sucks. The A/C section says take to a professional and thats it. The old system is R12 so I got a new compressor R134 and new dryer with new o-rings, oil all the good stuff. I have my own dual guage R12 / 134 with vac*** pump setup. I changed the dryer and switched out most the Orings I could find. Compressor is unbolted however its stuck in the car. Was curious what part y'all remove to get the compressor out. Pull the lower radiator hose? Unbolt the subframe to let it slip out? Or is there something I am missing. Once I get the compressor out I'll be done and get the car off the lift.

Anything I should know about the car such as common problems? What octane is recommended ? 1991 4.9L PFI V8.

Thanks for any info y'all can give.
